Dr. Weidenbenner:

It would seem that Dr. Hunt is the reigning polyadenylation blogger right now. I used to have a blog, but the domain name was poached away from me. I hope someday to resume.

Good luck!

Best wishes,

Hi Clint,
As a member of the "wider" audience [my diet starts tomorrow!] its nice to see a new name. And with your experience looking at APA in testis I'm guessing you're well versed on gender differences in alternative polyadenylation. Are you writing blog posts anywhere?

I like to think that this blog has a wider audience than my lab. I get a steady trickle of hits on the introductory essays, probably from students who need to look up information about polyadenylation for class. And the ID-related stuff also gets a slow but constant stream of hits.

The on-going challenge (that I probably fail at miserably) is to write essays that can inform my lab and also generate some interest amongst the wider audience.

I suppose I am overly sensitive to terms like "homology"; it's the professor in me. :-) Good post, though! Do you address these mostly to your lab, or do you have a wider audience?

Best wishes,

Dr. Hunt:

It is great to see someone (who is not me :-) ) writing blog posts on polyadenylation. Keep up the great work!

Clint MacDonald

P.S. Shouldn't it be "miR16 complementarity," not "miR16 homology" in your note?
